Rafa Forteza’s career, developed since the 1980s, positions him as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Spanish art. His work has been presented in numerous institutional solo exhibitions, including Kunst-Station Sankt Peter (Cologne), Es Baluard Museu (which dedicated a retrospective to him in 2016), CaixaForum, Fundació Joan Miró, and the State Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg.

His work has also been regularly exhibited at major international art fairs such as Art Basel, ARCO Madrid, and Art Cologne, and is part of significant public and private collections, including the Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid), the Centre Pompidou (Paris), the Deutsche Bank Collection, the “la Caixa” Collection, and the Münchner Künstlerhaus Stiftung in Munich.
